Aside From Nudist Clubs, How Do I Meet Local Naturists?

At FKK, we hear this question fairly often. This isn’t surprising. There are nudists spread out throughout the U.S., and not everyone has a naked beach or nudist resort or club nearby. Even if they do, some can’t manage to join their local nudist club or do not have the transport to get there.
We have some ideas to share for connecting with fellow naturists both online and off line.

Examples of alternative nudie surroundings:
– Swimming holes or areas in nature that have a tradition of skinny dipping, including ponds, rivers and lakes in national parks or woods. The site swimmingholes.org has a complete list of swimming holes all over the nation (though we do not understand how often it gets updated). It has both textile and nude areas, so seek out the ones especially noted to have a skinny dipping convention. Bear in mind the folks who frequent these areas don’t necessarily call themselves naturists. Since these areas are usually free and open to the general public, they bring a wide range of folks. But if other folks are there skinny dipping, you certainly have a shared interest!
– If you are into yoga, then have nudism freedom at your local naked yoga classes. Many times nude yoga instructors will sponsor courses in a local studio and not at a nearby naturist club. These classes can form a community when the same folks return week after week.
– Nude spas. These sorts of places are likely the least conducive to meeting folks. They are typically sex-segregated and many people are just there to relax and unwind to not make friends. But if the vibe is right, it can nevertheless be a place to meet like minded folks.
How you can meet nudists & make nudie pals
– Local naked-friendly events, such as the World Naked Bike Ride, naked runs / parades like in San Francisco, local Burning Man events, etc. These aren’t naturist occasions, but they do pull nudies and individuals who are open to naturist tasks.
How to meet naturist people there : I understand it can be intimidating to approach strangers, even if you’re both naked and enjoying exactly the same tasks. It seems to be particularly challenging for single men, who are, unfortunately, most commonly suppose before they even say a word.
So if you are unsure or not keen on chatting up strangers, the first thing I’d say is to, if it’s possible to do so bring a friend. Being with a friend could make the experience more relaxing and fun. It may give you more confidence and even give you more legitimacy when it comes to how others see you. (Hate to say it, but if you are a man, a girl will likely be more open to speaking to you if you are followed by a female friend.)
If conversation is strained or they definitely desire to be left alone, it’s far better politely end the conversation and proceed.
Meeting Local Naturist People and Naturist Groups Online:
You can also try meeting locals through nudist social networks and newsgroups. Most of these sites are rudimentary and badly designed. That being said, they have been still free and used by naturists all around the globe.
Some nudist on-line social networks / forums to try:
But if you have the patience, there are good folks on there.
The Naktiv Nook – http://www.naktiv.net This is one of the newer social networks for nudists, but it seems to be doing nicely, as they say they’ve now reached 4,000 members. This network has a peculiar policy against dull selfies, but it’s otherwise one to look into.
This network was developed in France. I’ve never used it, but have no reason to consider it’s not valid.
NudistClubhouse.com – same kind as truenudists.com.
Naturist Corner – http://www.naturist-corner.net (newsgroup)
Naturist Websites to prevent: nudist dating scam websites.
Other on-line networks and groups where you can meet local naturists through:
Despite Facebook’s draconian censorship policies against nudity, you’ll find many nudist groups on there. We now have a chief FKK group of over 6,000 people (and growing rapidly!) from all over the world. Members are welcome to post introductions of themselves in the group and make local new naturist friends by asking who else is in their place.
We also have secret local groups for folks in the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, PA) and for upstate New York, as well as a secret group just for women. Contact us if you’d like to join one of the secret groups.
Create your own group for nudists:
Last but not least, it is possible to meet others by creating your own group online and / or offline. FKK is no longer opening new chapters, but we do help, support and encourage other valid young naturist groups and new groups generally.
Meetup.com is a good site to start with. (It’s otherwise free to use for non-organizers.) It may be recommended to have a free, clothed meet-up at a neighborhood cafe as a preliminary assembly. This would create a less intimidating environment for potential newbies and would also help you screen people for naked events.
You can also create a Facebook group and encourage it in other nudist / naturist Facebook groups.
FB has distinct privacy choices for groups:
The advantages of a closed group are that folks can find it in Facebook searches and you’re able to share it by linking to it. The disadvantage is that you will need certainly to work harder to screen random people who request to join.
-With secret groups, your entire group is invisible to everyone except its members. It can not be found in hunts, and it does not show up on anyone’s profile / timeline. This is preferred by people who don’t want their FB friends to understand they’re in the group. The only method you’re able to add new individuals to it is by becoming Facebook friends with them first.
You always have the option to focus on a closed group so as to encourage it and later on alter it to secret.
Craigslist.org is also another website for meeting folks, whether you are posting to meet like-minded buddies, or for promoting your brand-new group. It has its bad eggs like any website, but it’s completely possible to meet the right people, also.
So that’s our guide! What did we leave out, readers? What is your expertise in striving to meet likeminded locals outside of clubs / resorts?
