Intro to Nudism and Naturism – Any Questions?

The Origins Of Modern Day Nudism and Nudism
Nudism and Naturism – In America, Naturism is also known as nudism. It’s a cultural movement that’s centered around practicing social nudity in both public and private spaces.
Most nudists participate in these social activities as part of an overall natural lifestyle that promotes healthy social relationships, body image susceptibility awareness and a sense of comfort in one’s own skin.

The Term Nudism
Let us take a look at the origins of nudism, the world of modern naturism and the changing views of societal nudity within the general public. The term naturism was first coined in by the physician Jean Baptiste Luc Planchon, who recommended the practice of nudity as a means to enhance general health by leading a life that was in tune with nature.
The modern naturist movement finds its origins in Germany during the late 20th century, when writers like Heinrich Pudor and Richard Ungewitter popularized the concept of social nudity with the people. These early nudists believed that practicing social nudity during sporting events and other recreational activities increased mental and physical fitness, in addition to social skills and moral mentality.

Modern Nudism Worth
While modern nudists have an extensive variety of reasons for enjoying public nudity, almost all naturists are heavily affected by the values of early naturists. Across Western Europe, Canada and the USA, there are numerous naturist organizations that let like minded families and people to get together and socialize nude in private spaces. There are also now public shores in many regions of the world that allow nudists to enjoy strand activities without clothes, along with retreats that are open to the public for nudists who aren’t interested in joining a formal organization.
The fundamental ideal that governs all these distinct naturist clubs, organizations and groups is that nudity and sexuality are two separate problems. While in a naturist setting, it is important to make a clear differentiation. The reason is that nudism is in its purest form is no different than “clothism”. Accurate nudistsbelieve that they should be able to love whatever clothed folks do (with their friends, family and kids) the only difference is that they’d prefer doing in nude.
Nudists believe that the nude human body isn’t, in and of itself, lewd, black or pornographic. It’s just simply someone who happens not to be wearing clothing. Nothing more, nothing less. Based on this prognosis, they may be ok with their children seeing other naked people but they most surly not want their children exposed to sexuality.

Although societal nudismtranscends the common taboo against public nudity, recent studies have shown that the general public is increasingly comfortable with non sexualized nudism. The general consensus is that individuals recognize societal nudity as a civil right if it is done in a specifically sanctions place.
A Gallup Poll performed in 2000 revealed that nearly half of the population considers that secluded public land should be set aside for nudists to legitimately enjoy themselves in parks and shores. The exact same survey revealed that 80% of the people is comfortable with nude sunbathing in allotted places.
So why not give it a try? The worst that could happen might be losing those coveted tan lines 😉
