The Puzzle Bare Beach of Assateague Island

My quest to find the unclothed beach at Assateague Island Maryland
Assateague Island Nude Beach – I have recently become an active person in the naturist community, and I ‘ve become completely infatuated with everything about it. So when my family asked me to head to Maryland with them for a couple days, I instantly tried to learn as much as I could about Maryland’s nudist clubs or nudist resorts. To my surprise, after much internet research, I found virtually no information about them. Almost no information, because the most surprising bit of info I could locate is that the strand I ‘ve been seeing since I was a little kid has its very own “unofficial” naturist beach.
At one point in time the playa, known as Assateague Island, also a National State Park famous for the wild horses, had been a extremely popular bare beach. In 1984, a religious group from Virginia lobbied the Virginia section of the coast to pass an anti-nudity ordinance. Since then, several naturist communities have set on the Maryland side, making it the “unofficial” unclothed beach of Maryland. There, nudists love the liberty that they want.
I finished my research on the nudist clubs by locating a number of different sites that gave http://nudist-video.net/young-nudist/family-nudist-world.php to the playa. My family and I piled into our mini van to start our quests. They were looking for ponies; I was searching for nudies. After a twenty-minute ride from Ocean City, we finally arrived at Assateague Island National Park. After we paid a little parking fee into the park, some rangers led us to our destination.
We started to head out to the main strand area when we spotted wild horses near the campgrounds. We got out of the car to shoot pictures and were stopped by a park ranger telling us we had to remain at least ten feet away from the horses. It was at this point when I determined to ask the park ranger about the naked beach. He said the plage is a myth. I refused to believe him. In the end, why would there be an anti-nudity ordinance on the Virginia area of the sand? We finished taking pictures of the horses and proceed.

We eventually ventured onto the main strand. I packaged my water bottle, iPod, and towel, and then set out on a quest to locate the celebrated naturist beach. I walked for about twenty minutes northward on the lovely shell-scattered playa, my feet lazily cooling in the ocean. At this point I ceased; the strand was still buzzing with fully-clothed families. Possibly the bare beach was a myth after all, or at least, no longer existed. I decided to keep going since it was a lovely day and I had nothing left to lose on the experience.
The beach was less packed as I walked another half hour, until ultimately, there was virtually no one else there. Then all of a sudden, a soft ball rolled past my feet followed by a nude guy chasing it. I picked up the toy and threw it back. I smiled. I was finally in the appropriate place.

I spread out my towel, took off my bathing suit, lay down and let the exhilarating feeling of naked liberty overtake over my body. I took a deep breath knowing I could finally relax. And as though on cue, naturists pooping came walking from behind some of the tall grassy dunes. All of the folks on the strand went over to hang out with the horses. We even got to pet them before they drifted back over to the bayside of the island.
After some time appreciating the freedom of the beach, many of the nudists started leaving. I decided it was probably time I also left to get back to my family, all the while knowing that I am going to be back to this amazing playa oasis of calmness and tranquility.
